A Tablet PC is a notebok (laptop), or slate shaped mobile computer equiped with a touch screen or graphics hybrid technology which lets the user operate the computer with a stylus or pen, instead of a keyboard or mouse.
This format allows a more mobile way of interactingwith the computer. Tablet PC's are often used where normal notebooks are impractical or do not require the needed functionality.
Bill Gates of Microsoft, first used the term Tablet PC in an address at the 2001 Comdex Conference, a more general term is "Pen Computer" or Pen computing.
